Mini Christmas Stocking Pattern
These mini Christmas stockings are a fun intermediate project with a beautiful textured design. They work up quickly and are perfect for using up left over yarn from your stash. Use them as festive decor, ornaments for your tree, or even fill them with small goodies for a thoughtful holiday gift.

Finished Size
Approximately 6 inches tall x 3 inches wide, depending on yarn and tension.
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn (size 4 medium)
- Colors used: White, green
- 5.5mm (I) Crochet Hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle (yarn needle)

Special Stitches
Detailed instructions for the stitches below:
- fpdc - double crochet worked in the front post of the stitch
Yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front around the post of the stitch (working around the front of the stitch, not into the top loops). Yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through remaining 2 loops on hook.
- dc3tog - double crochet 3 stitches together
Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops. Repeat in next 2 stitches. Yarn over, pull through all loops on hook.

Pattern
Stitch count is shown in parenthesis at end of each round.
Join each round with a sl st to the first stitch to complete round.
Toe
Rounds 1-3
Start with white yarn
Ch 1 at the beginning of each round; does not count as stitch.
Round 1: Work 6hdc into a MC (6)
Round 2: hdc inc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: *hdc inc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch. Repeat from * to end of round. (18) Change to green in last stitch.
Body
Rounds 4-7
Ch 2 at the beginning of each round; does not count as stitch.
Round 4: dc in each stitch (18)
Round 5: fpdc around first dc, dc in next stitch. *fpdc around next dc, dc in next stitch. Repeat from * around, ending with a dc (18)
Round 6: dc in next stitch, fpdc around next stitch. *dc in next stitch, fpdc around next stitch. Repeat from * around, ending with a fpdc (18)
Round 7: Repeat Round 5 (18)
Do not fasten off. Leave Green Yarn attached, keeping the working loop secure. Proceed to Heel
Heel of Stocking
Rows 1-5
Ch 1 and turn at the end of each row.
Row 1: Skip first 5 stitches of round 7. Join white yarn in next stitch, ch 1, hdc in same stitch and next 8 stitches (9)
Row 2: hdc dec, hdc in next 5 sts, hdc dec (7)
Row 3: hdc dec, hdc in next 3 sts, hdc dec (5)
Row 4: hdc inc, hdc in next 3 sts, hdc inc (7)
Row 5: hdc inc, hdc into next 5 stitches, hdc inc. (9) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Finish Heel
- With right side facing, fold heel in half, aligning Row 1 with the last row worked.
- Whip stitch each side closed
- Turn heel right side out.
Continue Body
Rounds 8-16
Ch 2 at the beginning of each round; does not count as stitch.
Return to the working loop from round 7 and continue.
Round 8:
- dc in first stitch. *fpdc around next stitch, dc in next stitch; repeat from * across to first heel gap.
- dc3tog over next 3 spaces, dc in next 8 sts (heel), dc3tog over next 3 spaces.
- *fpdc around next stitch, dc in next stitch; repeat from * to end, ending with fpdc. (20)
Round 9: fpdc around first dc, dc in next stitch. *fpdc around next dc, dc in next stitch. Repeat from * around, ending with a dc. (20)
Round 10: dc in next stitch, fpdc around next stitch. *dc in next stitch, fpdc around next stitch. Repeat from * around, ending with a fpdc. (20)
Round 11: Repeat Round 9. (20)
Round 12: Repeat Round 10. (20)
Round 13: Repeat Round 9. (20) Change to white in last stitch.
Top Edging
Rounds 14-16
Ch 1 at the beginning of each round; does not count as stitch.
Rounds 14-15: hdc in each stitch around. (20)
Round 16: sc in each stitch around. (20)
- Optional: Work 12 sc, ch 9 to form hanging loop, sc in remaining 8 stitches. (20)
Tip: Adjust placement of the loop as needed so it sits at the back center of the stocking
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
